The Dutch Ministry of Education, applied sciences universities, culture and science, and numerous Dutch universities on research are funding the Holland Scholarship that gives education grants for a college degree program.

The Holland Scholarship is exclusively offered to international students who are non-EEA or those who live outside the European Economic Area. For this scholarship, the recipient will be given education grants worth of €5,000 during their first year of study for a college degree program.

However, the applicants are reminded that this scholarship will only be awarded once to the recipient and will not provide for the complete costs of tuition. Also, this scholarship is not available for renewal. To apply for the scholarship, the applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • The applicant must be a non-EEA or simply a student who lives outside the European Economic Area.
  • Must be applying for a full-time master’s or bachelor’s program.
  • Must be applying to a Dutch higher institution that is affiliated with this scholarship.
  • Must meet the qualities and requirements needed by the applicant’s chosen institution.

  • Must not hold any degree from a Netherland’s educational institution.

For the application process, the applicants are advised to check the list of universities that are affiliated with this scholarship. It is either a research university or an applied science university where the applicants will have the freedom to choose from. For the winning applicant, the university will reach out to you to let you know that you are chosen for the scholarship.

On the official website of these universities, the applicants can access the application process along with a detailed information. For the application, you can fill out their online application form which will be available at the start of submissions for the next school year. Each university sets a different deadline, which can also be accessed on their websites.

For the scholarship in general, the application has a typical deadline. For the school year 2017-2018, the applications are already closed. However, the submission for scholarship application for the next school year (2018-2019) will start on November 1, 2017 and will end on May 1, 2018.

Despite the deadlines set on a distinct date, the applicants are still advised to visit the website of their chosen institution for an accurate deadline.
